The Korean government has moved up the plan for mass production of medium-sized electric vehicle from 2017 to 2014 (3 years earlier than originally planned), applying Hyundai BlueOn technology. In 2014, the government will build up a private-public cooperative plan for the mass-production of mid-sized electric vehicles.

In addition, the government plans to replace 10% of small-sized vehicle units to electric vehicles by 2015 and 20% of passenger cars to electric vehicles by 2020. The goal is to supply a total of 1,000,000 electric vehicles and 2,200,000 chargers by 2020.
